Chukkas: They're here to stay (and, we think, with good reason)! A boot that dresses up just as well as down, it's a style that has a space in every man's wardrobe. We've designed our Whatcom model in that spirit, offering a classically inspired boot with just enough of a twist to stand out (don't miss the stitched pseudo "heel counter").

Sitting on our rubber Street Walker Sole, our Whatcoms are boots that are both as tough and elegant as you are. Black Calf and a new chisel last makes this a very smart pair, ideally suited to your favorite grey suit.

    what the style is:

    Chukka Boot

    Chukka boots are an ankle-height middle ground between low shoes like oxfords, and "true" boots. They are a semi casual, all-season style, and can be used to dress up denim, or to dress down tailoring.

    This particular boot, with its smooth black calfskin and chiseled last, is intended to be a more dressy chukka.

    what it's lasted on:

    Saint Helens Last

    The Saint Helens last is the chisel last of our JF line. It is slightly elongated, but less so than our J. FitzPatrick line chisel lasts; it ultimately fits very true to size with a medium instep and a cut that closely follows the contours of the foot.  We recommend keeping your standard size with the Saint Helens last.

    The Saint Helens is a classic medium-fitting last:
    -Medium forefoot (neither too wide nor too narrow)
    -Medium instep, not as generous as our J.FitzPatrick Line lasts
    -Good for medium width feet
    -Slightly elongated last, yet very shaped to foot length/profile

    what you'll be standing on:

    Street Walker Sole

    The "Street Walker" sole is an open-channel, combination leather and rubber design. Leather heel stacks and mid soles are topped with rubber to create an all-weather capable finish.

    size guidance

    The Whatcom offers a snug and elongated fit. It is quite hugging in the midfoot with a standard toebox and instep. If you have slender to standard width feet, stick to your typical size. If you have wider feet, you will want to take a half size up to accommodate for width. If you have a standard fit, but enjoy a snug feel, stick to your standard size.
