Saddle Oxford

This modernized saddle shoe is "the" shoe of the J.Fitzpatrick brand: Founder and owner Justin FitzPatrick made such a pair by hand during his early apprentice years, and continues to draw inspiration from its intersection of classic and modern styling, and its bold coloring.

what it's lasted on:

JKF Last

The JKF is our classic pointed last. It maintains the elegant shape of the TMG, simply extending the toe to a narrower finish, to create a sleeker silhouette. Despite appearing narrow due to the pointed toe, the JKF last is quite forgiving in the forefoot.

The JKF is one of our medium-fitting lasts:

-Medium overall fit
-Generous forefoot with relation to the toe area
-Voluminous instep
-Pointed toe is not ideal for those with very wide feet
-Not exaggeratedly elongated

what you'll be standing on:

Leather Sole (Closed Channel)

Single leather soles are our most handsome sole option. A subtle profile combines with tastefully pitched heels, beveled waists, and closed-channel stitching to ensure an elegant look, while seven brass nails in the toe improve longevity.

Size Guidance

The Stefano Redux, on the JKF Last, is a deceivingly generously fitting oxford. The pointed toe gives a narrow look, but the forefoot is actually generous. The instep is semi-generous, so if you have a low instep we recommend a half-size down. For all others, stick to your standard size for a well-fitting oxford.

Length: Elongated
Width: Generous
Instep: Generous
Toe Box: Standard
Last shape: Pointed round

leather quality (Review Updated)

--- Initial Review ---

I have JFP shoes and boots from a few years ago, and they are great. This pair, however, has very bad creasing on the upper. The right shoe has the worst creases among all the shoes I own. (I have over five hundred pairs of leather shoes. Addiction. I know.)

Was it just me who got a lemon? Or has JFP reduced its leather quality?

--- Update (10.10.24) ---

Justin kindly offered an exchange after examining my photos. The new pair is certainly better and up to my expectations. I'd like to say that I received very good customer service and will continue supporting the brand.

I also agree that the shoe-making world is constantly changing, and it can be challenging to keep a decent price/quality ratio. As far as I see it, those shoe factories in Spain may not be the most competitive in terms of production cost/quality anymore.

Hey Ziyao, sorry that the leather on your pair was less than your expectation, or even far from it. Nothing has changed on our end but a lot has changed at the tanneries. We still purchase the same leather (according to our factory) but to maintain our prices then all of the hide needs to be used, even the less desirable parts. If we use the same leather as a brand that sells for double our price, part of what separates them from us is their ability to create wastage by only cutting 50%-75% of the hide. I hope that makes sense, and while it is not an excuse it is simply the reality of the leather/shoe industry. Sadly not every pair can be 100% grade 1 leather. If we did that it would raise our prices significantly, to nearly double.

I am sorry for your disappointment. If you email us we can somehow sort it out for you.

NICE

Wore them today paired with black jeans and a black pullover top. Wore them with confidence but wasn't sure of how the feedback would be, as the area where I live, do not commonly wear footwear of this flair. But my day began with compliments of the shoes and it continued throughout the day...... it was a great purchase!!
