Double monkstraps have become a staple in the modern man's wardrobe, from board rooms to cocktail bars. Worn with denim just as easily as with a suit, they form an essential piece in your rotation.

Storm Suede proved so popular in our Haller loafer that we decided to use it for this new Sammamish model. Bold without being overpoweringly colorful, the resulting model is a unique style that will wear best with warm weather color palettes.

    what the style is:

    Double Monsktrap

    Monkstraps are identified by their strap buckle closures, usually made up of one or two -- but possibly more -- straps that keep each shoe secure. Double monkstraps are among the more modern variants of this style.

    what it's lasted on:

    Rainier Last

    The Rainier last is the smart round last of our JF Line. It is slightly elongated but fits true to size with a medium instep. Its fit is between our J. FitzPatrick TMG and NGT lasts in terms of length and width, but with a lower (more standard) instep. We recommend keeping your standard size with the Rainier last.

    The Rainier is a classic medium-fitting last:
    -Medium forefoot (neither too wide nor too narrow)
    -Medium instep, not as generous as our J.FitzPatrick Line lasts
    -Good for medium-width to slender feet
    -Slightly elongated last, yet very shaped to foot length/profile

    what you'll be standing on:

    Street Walker Sole

    The "Street Walker" sole is an open-channel, combination leather and rubber design. Leather heel stacks and mid soles are topped with rubber to create an all-weather capable finish.

    size guidance

    The Sammamish on the Rainier last is quite a true to fit model, verging on the side of ‘snug’. It is quite hugging throughout, with a normal to slender forefoot and a standard instep. If you have slender to standard width feet, stick to your typical size. If you have broad to wider feet, you will want to take a half size up to accommodate for width. If you have a standard fit, but enjoy a snug feel, stick to your standard size.
