The Russell is a truly unique shoe: Traditional eyelets are replaced with leather tabs, creating a more "exposed" lacing style and resulting in what we call a "ghillie" shoe. Combine that with the brogue-bordered wingtip adelaide pattern, all executed in a combination of museum calfskin and medley tweed (still with us??) and what you have on your hands is one serious shoe!

While the Russell might look like a normal oxford at first glance, it obviously is far from that. The colors of this model lend themselves to being styled like a typical brown shoe, but you'll want to bear in mind its bold detailing when deciding how (and when) to wear this uniquely designed pair.

Our collection includes many options excellent for everyday wear; the Russell is intended for the modern gent whose styling preferences are anything but everyday.

Ghillie Oxford

Traditional eyelets are replaced with leather tabs, creating a more "exposed" lacing style and resulting in what we call a "ghillie" shoe. It is combined with a brogue-bordered wingtip adelaide pattern to create a truly unique shoe.

what it's lasted on:

LPB Last

The LPB is our soft chisel last. It is a softened variant of the classic MGF chisel last, with the smoother lines of LPB offering a more conservative and versatile profile.
The LPB is a generous fitting last, making it a good choice for those with broad feet.
-Generous all-around fit
-Voluminous instep
-Labeled as UK 'E' width (US 'D' equivalent). However, being generous it is closer to a US D/E fit, falling between the two.
-Elongated last shape

Leather Sole (Closed Channel)

Single leather soles are our most handsome sole option. A subtle profile combines with tastefully pitched heels, beveled waists, and closed-channel stitching to ensure an elegant look, while seven brass nails in the toe improve longevity.

size guidance

The Russell, on the LPB Last, is a generous and elongated fitting oxford. The combination of tweed and leather offers a generous feel. If you wear slender lasts, you will wish to size down. If you wear more generous fitting lasts, often found in Italian brands or on other chisel lasts, stick with your typical size. If you are a standard fit, it will be up to you to decide if you prefer a little more room or a snugger fit. If more room, stick to the same size, if more snug, size down.

The tweed allows for a quick break-in and stretching after wear.
