Horsebit Loafers

The horsebit style is traditionally Italian, but has become a staple piece in the the gentleman's wardrobe across the globe. Our Pike loafer stands alone as a finely balanced horsebit loafer. Its handsome last creates a timeless and elegant silhouette; its hand-stitched "apron" is subtler than the chunky and moccasin-like equivalent found even among designer brands; and a smaller "horse bit" piece creates a more proportional and, consequently, more attractive overall design.

what it's lasted on:

TMG Last

The TMG is our smart round last. Its subtle shape ensures an elegant look on any style of shoe, and its versatility enables you to wear it anywhere from the boardroom to date night.

The TMG is a classic medium-fitting last:
-Standard forefoot
-Voluminous instep on Pike model due to low cut vamp
-Good for medium-sized feet
-Non-elongated last

what you'll be standing on:

Leather Sole (Closed Channel)

Single leather soles are our most handsome sole option. A subtle profile combines with tastefully pitched heels, beveled waists, and closed-channel stitching to ensure an elegant look, while seven brass nails in the toe improve longevity.

Size Guidance

As a standard rule for our loafers, we cut them more snugly compared to our laced shoes in the same size.

For our Pike, on the TMG Last, we recommend that most gentlemen stick with the same size as their laced shoes. The exception is if you wear your laced shoes without room to spare, in which case we recommend you take a half size up. If you have a low instep, we recommend you size down as this has a low-cut vamp.

Similar in sizing to the Carmina Uetam loafer and Crockett & Jones Cavendish.

Top Billing

These loafers are everything a shoe should be. Attention to detail is top shelf. Top shoe shine job I've seen from any brand upon receiving them fresh out of the box. Adding the nails to the tip of the shoe helps for those of us like myself that are generally rough on the sole. The buckle is the perfect size and not too large. Instead, it acts as a perfect element that helps make up the overall look of the shoes. The liners are incredibly soft and form fitting. Having grown up wearing cowboy boots, I can tell this is high quality leather that will break in beautifully over time. I have no complaints about this shoe. If anything, Justin and his team make an amazing product and should be charging far more for it. If you are looking for an introduction to high-quality dress shoes, stop you have arrived at your destination.

Lastly, the entire JF team should be commended for their customer service. Justin himself called me about a snafu and we quickly figured things out over a quick conversation.
