Rainier Last

The Rainier last is the smart round last of our JF Line. It is slightly elongated but fits true to size with a medium instep. Its fit is between our J. FitzPatrick TMG and NGT lasts in terms of length and width, but with a lower (more standard) instep. We recommend keeping your standard size with the Rainier last.

The Rainier is a classic medium-fitting last:
-Medium forefoot (neither too wide nor too narrow)
-Medium instep, not as generous as our J.FitzPatrick Line lasts
-Good for medium-width feet
-Slightly elongated last, yet very shaped to foot length/profile

Street Walker Sole

The "Street Walker" sole is an open-channel, combination leather and rubber design. Leather heel stacks and mid soles are topped with rubber to create an all-weather capable finish.

size guidance

The Crescent offers a snug and elongated fit. It is quite hugging in the midfoot, with a slender toebox and a standard instep. If you have slender to standard-width feet, stick to your typical size. If you have broad to wider feet, you will want to take a half size up to accommodate for width. If you have a standard fit, but enjoy a snug feel, stick to your usual size.

Beautiful, Beautiful Shoe

I wasn't in the market for a wholecut or even another black shoe. In fact, I'd told myself I'd purchased enough shoes for the year. But then I saw the Crescent, a clean, sleek, elegant shoe. The simple lines and minimalist medallion give it sophistication, and the Rainier last, with the longer almond toe, is modern without being transient. Justin gave great advice about ordering in my regular size, and it fits well, with a minimum of heel slip I expect to go away as it breaks in. The Crescent was packaged nicely with shoe bags, a slide out box, and an extra pair of laces. I was so happy with this purchase, I ordered another terrific J.FitzPatrick shoe, the Martel.

Fantastic shoe

It came how it should! It looks neat. It fits perfectly. The sizing is definitely not inaccurate. Its just a beautiful shoe.

Sizing is Inaccurate

Easily half a size smaller than stated.

You would think if that were the actual case we would have a lot more bad reviews on the Rainier last.. If you read the size guide it states that the JF Line falls between narrow and standard. And the Rainier last is 'a touch more narrow in the toe box'. Wondering if you cared to read that prior to purchasing and giving a 1-star review?
