If You Had To Wear One Shoe Forever...

Hopefully none of us have to pick just one shoe to wear every day. But if that did happen, a smart man would opt for a black wholecut!
 
The reasoning is simple: While no one shoe can truly “do it all,” black wholecuts pair beautifully with all manner of tailoring — from everyday dressy, to black tie — yet they can still be worn casually in a pinch. And while the wholecut style is really meant to be worn formally, and pairing it with denim may look a bit “off,” consider the alternative extreme: Casual shoes, such as a brown suede chukka boot, worn with black tie — disaster!
 
So if you ever have to swear by a single pair (or if you’re just starting your shoe collection), remember that no one shoe can play every role perfectly. But a black wholecut will always cover more ground than any other single style.
